Swearrings came into being during the NZ Twitter Secret Santa game of 2022. I was assigned an expat Scot who loved a drink, watching football and swearing, especially the word "Cunt". Knowing nothing about football and being far too cheap to buy her booze, I designed and 3D printed a bunch of custom sweary earrings that she could mix-and-match. Other people saw them and wanted in on the fun so they are now available for sale in New Zealand.
